The summer month's approach … and now is the time in the garden of life, to attentively tend to the weeds of limiting thought and nurture our growth with the water of positive self-talk. As promised last month you'll find some helpful tips to help you with the challenges of finding a job and inspiring thoughts from Oprah's work and years of guests. Enjoy!

If you are presently looking for a new job -

During the interview process, you will commonly hear questions or remarks about being under or over qualified. Should this happen, shift the focus by describing your skills, abilities, positive attitude and why you are interested in the position. Be ready to provide tangible contributions and measurable results you have achieved. Here are a few more suggestions my clients have found useful:

Catholic School Principal Has Pink Mohawk

How many school principal's do you know that have a pink Mohawk? We know of at least one.

We went to St. Peter’s School in Waldorf, Md. Thursday, June 9th to see Principal, J.R. West, shave his hair into a Mohawk and dye it pink for a lost bet before the kids summer vacation.

At the beginning of this school year, Mr. West challenged his students to read 4,000 books instead of the 2,300 they had read the previous year. He promised if they did this, he would shave his hair into a Mohawk and paint it pink.

“In January they were only around 1900 books and I thought I was in the clear but in the spring they kicked it up a gear. They read 4,300 books, averaging 30 books per child, which is great. They read a total of 68 million words this year, and I now have a pink Mohawk,” Principal J.R. West said with a smile on his face.
