20-year-old man dies after car overturns in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 20-year-old man died Tuesday night after the car he was driving hit a utility in Damascus.

According to Montgomery County police, 20-year-old David Mark Harris was driving in the 5200 block of Damascus Road when for an unknown reason he left the road and hit the pole. Harris died from his injuries at the scene, police said.  

The accident happened on Damascus Road between Sundown Road and Laytonsville Road, according to police. 

A large stretch of Damascus Road was closed while police investigated the accident. It has since reopened.
