GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man is in custody after he tried to set a fire inside of a Gaithersburg McDonald's early Friday morning, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue said.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. at 465 N. Frederick Ave, officials said. The suspect threw a rock through the window and tried to set a fire inside the restaurant. The fire was put out and there was only minimal damage, officials added.

Nobody was injured.

The man is being charged with one count of first degree attempted arson, one count of second degree malicious burning, one count of malicious destruction of property, and six counts of reckless endangerment.
