GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police need help identifying a person who was found in a shallow grave in the Great Seneca Stream Valley Park back in August, Montgomery County police said.

The body was discovered off the Greenway trail, about 200 yards from Watkins Mill Road on August 29, according to authorities. The death was ruled as a homicide due to the trauma to the upper torso of the victim's body.

Police have been trying to identify the victim, however are asking for the public's help. The victim is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic man who is believed to have been in his late teens to twenties. Police believe the victim's body was in the grave for less than six months. They do not know if the homicide happened at that location.

Authorities have now released photos of the victim's clothing and other items in hopes that someone may recognize some of the items.

Detectives urge anyone who has information regarding the identity of the victim or information about his personal effects to contact the police non- emergency number at 301-279-8000. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in this homicide.
