GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Several people were evacuated from an apartment complex in Gaithersburg after a fire late Wednesday morning.

According to Montgomery County Fire Spokesperson Pete Piringer, residents at a three-story building on North Summit Avenue were evacuated because of a kitchen fire on the first floor.

None of the evacuated occupants had serious injuries and the fire was under control in a short time.
