The Original Hurricane Irene Song Performed By Maryland Man Anfon Ha |
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
While thousands of locals in the D.C. Metro area got ready for Hurricane Irene by stocking up on groceries and picking up sandbags, Gaithersburg resident Anfon Ha prepared for the storm in a different way.
Ha, a 25 year-old graphic designer, wrote an original song about the storm and recorded it too.
"Usually when I'm very bored I get very motivated by the smallest things," Ha said. "When Hurricane Isabel came in 2003 I wrote a song about that as well. I thought it could be a cool trend."
Ha said the song took about 30 minutes to write and that he wrote it all today, August 27.
"I tried to write it so it wasn't so hurricane specific, so it could also seem like it was about a girl," Ha said with a chuckle. "So if I was hanging out with my buddies I wanted to be able to say it was about a girl, so I made it kind of vague."
