5 Reasons to Get Your Dog Gourmet Baked Goods This Holiday Season

Dog Krazy, a specialty shop featuring products for dogs, offers a full line of all-natural, allergen-free healthy dog treats.

Throughout America, there are roughly 78 million dogs. People love their dogs, calling them their best friend and treating them like their child. As many pet parents do their holiday shopping, they may want to add something for their furry family member, or friend, to their list. Although the dog can’t personally ask for it, the word on the street is that gourmet baked goods top the ‘most wanted’ list, this year.

“All dogs love gourmet baked goods,” explains Nancy Guinn, owner of Dog Krazy, located in Fredericksburg. “And why shouldn’t they? These treats are good enough for humans to eat, but made especially for the dogs in our lives. One bite and your dog will be hooked.”

Gaithersburg Man Pleads Guilty to 2011 Frederick Bank Robbery

BALTIMORE (AP) - A Gaithersburg man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Frederick bank.

Thirty-two-year-old Ashref Bannaga entered the plea on Friday. He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison at sentencing April 5.

According to his plea agreement, Bannaga entered the Capitol One Bank on Dec. 7, 2011, displayed what appeared to be a gun and demanded that the branch manage open the safe. The manager was unable to, and prosecutors say Bannaga opened a teller drawer, removed nearly $6,000 and fled.

He was arrested shortly after the robbery. Prosecutors say Bannaga was on supervised release after serving nearly six years for bank robbery in 2006.

Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

Transition for most people is hard, even if it’s a positive change. Stepping out of your comfort zone takes courage whether it’s for your business or in your personal life.  There are some people who are willing to continue to operate like they have for years. But our landscape is changing at a rapid pace and change is inevitable. Instead of resisting change, embrace it because what you resist persists. Push yourself by taking a baby step; you’ll be amazed at what you or your business can do!

Got Brunch? 5 Reasons to Try Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge

Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge now offers a brunch menu in addition to their regular lunch menu. The brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The menu features a variety of sweets, eggs, omelets, and more.

“Brunch is a special time of the day for many people,” says Ryan Fichter, Executive Chef of Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge. “Brunch is a great meal because you get so many good options to choose from, and you don’t have to get out of bed early to enjoy them before the breakfast menu is no longer available.”

Here are 5 reasons to make a point of going to brunch:

1. Power up to power shop. Those who will be engaged in heavy holiday shopping will need to fuel up in order to keep going. They can get all the energy they need by attending a brunch. Whether going before heading out to shop, or stopping in after they get that party started, the food will be ready and waiting.

Restaurants Increasingly Enter the Food Porn Ring

Restaurants Increasingly Enter the Food Porn Ring

You may not know what it’s called, but there’s no doubt that you have been exposed to it. You have probably even felt a little hungry after seeing it. You may have licked your lips and headed off to the kitchen or a restaurant for a taste of what you have seen. It may linger on your mind for days after, seducing you to stop in and give it a try. It’s called “food porn” and it’s increasingly becoming something that restaurants and food companies turn to in order to get your attention, get you salivating, and ultimately get you to buy.

“Food porn has a name just as interesting and exciting as the dishes it represents,” explains Ryan Fichter, Executive Chef of Thunder Burger and Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge, both located in the heart of Georgetown. “We are visual people and love to see pictures of great dishes. Like they say, a picture's worth a thousand words. One great food porn photo is all it takes.”
